The 2025 Annual Report is a detailed record of the artists, activities, and partnerships we fostered over the past year. It’s also more than that:

It is a collection of human experiences. In this Annual Report, Fellows reflect on their time in Itaparica, with a selection of these experiences highlighted in in-depth pieces. It also includes tributes to Fellows who have passed, but who we’ll always remember.

This Annual Report is also about transparency. It goes into detail about our program and priorities, and includes our financial statements alongside statistics on our Fellows over the years. It also details our partnerships and collaborations, local and international, as well as our presence in the media, panels, and public forums.

We also see this Annual Report as a resource for other arts and cultural organizations. It offers insight into how we are navigating the political and environmental challenges of our time, and we hope it can contribute to broader conversations in the field. We are equally interested in learning from others (if you see potential for dialogue or collaboration with your organization, we would love to hear from you!).

Finally, this report is as much of a record of the past as it is a framework for the task that lies ahead.
