Honey Fungus is an immersive VR experience that invites users to journey through a world guided by a queer, sentient mycelial entity. Inspired by the fungal reproductive cycle, the experience unfolds across a series of interactive vignettes where players engage in sensory actions that shape and transform the environment.

Part of the project was developed at Sacatar, as Jonah King recollects: “My time at Sacatar was really important for the project. I was at a stage where I needed to develop the second half of the experience, and I remember laying everything out in the studio and working through what became the final structure of the piece.”

The project premiered at SXSW in March 2025 and will soon be featured in a show at Governor’s Island, in New York City.
