Honey Fungus is an immersive VR experience that invites users to journey through a world guided by a queer, sentient mycelial entity. Inspired by the fungal reproductive cycle, the experience unfolds across a series of interactive vignettes where players engage in sensory actions that shape and transform the environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Part of the project was developed at Sacatar, as Jonah King recollects: “My time at Sacatar was really important for the project. I was at a stage where I needed to develop the second half of the experience, and I remember laying everything out in the studio and working through what became the final structure of the piece.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The project premiered at SXSW in March 2025 and will soon be featured in a show at Governor’s Island, in New York City.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
