{"id":6317,"date":"2025-09-19T15:00:09","date_gmt":"2025-09-19T18:00:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sacatar.org\/marcus-deusdedit-is-the-winner-of-the-foco-artrio-2025-award-and-will-participate-in-a-residency-at-sacatar\/"},"modified":"2025-09-19T16:04:15","modified_gmt":"2025-09-19T19:04:15","slug":"marcus-deusdedit-is-the-winner-of-the-foco-artrio-2025-award-and-will-participate-in-a-residency-at-sacatar","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sacatar.org\/en\/marcus-deusdedit-is-the-winner-of-the-foco-artrio-2025-award-and-will-participate-in-a-residency-at-sacatar\/","title":{"rendered":"Marcus Deusdedit is the winner of the FOCO ArtRio 2025 Award and will participate in a residency at Sacatar."},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>&gt; Marcus Deusdedit (Belo Horizonte, MG, 1997) | Sacatar Residency Award<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He holds a degree in Architecture and Urbanism from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (2016) and is currently pursuing a master\u2019s degree in Architecture and Urbanism at the Faculty of Architecture of the University of S\u00e3o Paulo (2025\u2013).<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Career highlights include participating in the 8th Pampulha Scholarship artistic residency in Belo Horizonte, Brazil (2022); presenting the solo exhibition \u201c-10m\/s\u00b2 ou Teoria da Flutua\u00e7\u00e3o\u201d (10m\/s\u00b2 or Theory of Fluctuation) in Belo Horizonte, Brazil (2024), for which he received the 4th D\u00e9cio Noviello Prize for Visual Arts; and taking part in major institutional exhibitions such as the 14th Mercosul Biennial in Porto Alegre, Brazil (2025); \u201c1000\u00ba \u2013 38\u00ba Panorama da Arte Brasileira\u201d (1000\u00ba \u2013 38th Panorama of Brazilian Art) at the Museum of Contemporary Art of the University of S\u00e3o Paulo, Brazil (2024); \u201cDos Brasis \u2013 Arte e Pensamento Negro\u201d (Of Brazils \u2013 Black Art and Thought) at SESCs across Brazil (2023\u201324); and \u201cEncruzilhadas da Arte Afro-Brasileiras\u201d (Crossroads of Afro-Brazilian Art) at CCBBs across Brazil.<br\/>He also has works in the collections of important institutions such as the Pampulha Art Museum, the Emanuel Ara\u00fajo Afro Museum, and the Sesc Brasil Art Collection.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In his research, he explores possible distortions and aesthetic shifts in the codes of architecture and design through the exercise of editing in different languages, covering topics such as race, consumption, and the visual dissonances between the center and the periphery.
