(Ayoade Balogun<\/strong> | Sacatar Fellow 2024 | Visual Arts | Nigeria > USA | Partnership IDA-Stanford)Nigerian artist Ayoade Balogun first came to Bahia in 2024 as a resident at Instituto Sacatar during the IDA-Stanford session. As part of the program, Sacatar organized a visit to Alberto Pitta\u2019s studio, where Balogun was introduced to the artist and his work.Specializing in textiles and indigo dyeing, Balogun was immediately drawn to Pitta\u2019s decades-long practice in textile and printmaking. Sacatar helped facilitate their continued exchange beyond the residency, and now, as a result of that initial connection, she is returning to Bahia to collaborate with Pitta in the context of the 2025 Salvador Carnaval. <\/p>\n\n
