Former Sacatar Fellow Felipe Góes (Visual Arts / Brazil 2012) and Galeria Zipper invite you to the opening of the solo exhibition “Ser Ilha”, with curatorial text by Renata Rocco.

The exhibition brings together an unprecedented set of paintings that evoke changing landscapes, inspired by the geological emergence of the island of Surtsey, in the south of Iceland, and the poetics of Manoel de Barros.

On the canvases, the artist superimposes layers of paint that reveal and conceal shapes, in a process that mirrors the natural cycles of creation, erosion and disappearance.
